Maine’s Catholic High School seniors are invited to apply for the 2025 Lila Grace Sullivan Amirault Scholarship from the Catholic Foundation of Maine.
The Lila Grace Sullivan Amirault Scholarship Fund was established in 2013 at the Catholic Foundation of Maine, by the late Mr. Patrick Amirault in memory of his wife, Lila Grace Sullivan Amirault. The fund’s purpose is to provide a college scholarship for Catholic students attending high school in Maine.
Scholarships are awarded each year; one to a student at each of the two (2) Catholic high schools in Maine and one to an active Catholic attending a Maine high school. Previous awards have ranged between $3,000. - $5,000.
The deadline for applications is Friday, February 21, 2025. Applications may be emailed and/or mailed and must include all paperwork. The award winners for 2025 will be announced as soon as possible after the end of February. Recipients will be contacted and interviewed for articles and press releases to run in Harvest Magazine and other media.
Eligibility:
Applicant must be a practicing Catholic and active in the parish and attending a high school in Maine.
Applicant must be accepted to attend an accredited college or university.
The award will be for tuition only. The scholarship will be paid directly to the awardee’s school after their first semester is completed and requirements of the scholarship are met.
Applicant must demonstrate financial need and provide necessary documentation and/or give permission for the high school he/she attends to provide same.
Applicant must be working (work study is acceptable) while attending college or university.
In spite of the challenges of the COVID-19 outbreak, Catholic Foundation of Maine continues to work and grow. Although the staff is working primarily from home, and in-person meetings are being held virtually, business continues.
Two high school seniors with strong work ethics grounded in family and faith have been chosen as the winners of the 2020 Lila Grace Sullivan Amirault Scholarships, each receiving $4,500 to put towards their college tuition.

We will continue our work, continue to process and acknowledge all donations to the endowments, continue stewardship, and continue to complete distributions of annual payouts from our endowments, as well as continue to set up new endowments. In addition, we can conduct meetings virtually until we are able to gather again. Be assured of our prayers for health and safety at this time.
The staff of Catholic Foundation of Maine joins friends in family in mourning the passing of Florence G. Michaud. The Scholarship Endowment for St. Dominic High School in Memory of Paul and Florence Michaud was named for Florence and her late husband.
